Mailing Labels for Tenants
Using Breeze, you can now generate mailing labels for tenants -- for example, you could generate and print labels for all the current tenants at a given property. You can use two types of blank label sheets: HP Avery 5260 (3 x 10) or HP Avery 5261 (2 x 10). For more information, click here.
1099 Changes
You can now filter by property and property lists when you e-file.
You can now choose a reporting owner (per property) for vendor 1099s. This is useful if you have multiple owners, but only one of them is the designated owner for vendor 1099s.
You can now link an owner to a property with a zero ownership percentage. You can use this feature to file Vendor 1099s with the property's name as the payer. For more information, click here.
1099 Filing: No more preprinted forms
For the 2022 tax year, you can no longer use preprinted 1099 forms. Any forms sent to the IRS are done electronically (eFiling). Any hard-copy forms (copy B) are done on blank paper.
For eFiling, you need a transmitter control code from the IRS. For more information, go to irs.gov/e-file-providers/filing-information-returns-electronically-fire.
For paper forms for owners and vendors (copy B), you do not need to purchase any tax forms, but must have plain blank paper and standard W-2 / 1099 window envelopes to mail the forms to recipients.
