The Post Transfer function allows you to move all or part of the balance of one G/L account to another G/L account. It's typically used to transfer retained earnings at the end of the year, but it can be used to transfer funds from any account to another. For example, you might decide to close out one expense account and transfer the balance to another.
The examples in this article show how to transfer retained earnings at the end of the year.
To transfer funds from one GL account to another
Go to Accounting > General Ledger > Post Transfer.
Complete the screen.
