This article assumes that you have done the setup for 1099s, and you have extracted the data or entered it manually.
Even though you are e-Filing to the IRS, you still need to generate 1099 forms (Copy B) for owners and vendors.
To generate hard copy 1099 forms (Copy B)
Go to Accounting > IRS Forms > Step 3 of 4 - Generate 1099 Forms.
Use the menu on the left to choose the type of 1099 data you want to file. (Data types are explained in ) In the example shown above, we chose NEC/MISC Vendor by Mgmt.
The following fields require explanation:
Choose Tax Form | NEC or MISC. |
Group by Vendor Company | Limits processing to an alphanumeric range (0-9, A–D, E–H, I–L, M–P, Q–T, U–Z) of the Name field on the Vendor screen. If empty, processing includes all records. |
Payer Management Company Owner | Select the payer: either the property management company, or if you are running the function by owner, the owner record. |
Report Display | Chose who the report is for: the recipient (Copy B), or payer (Copy C), and choose whether the forms print one per page or two per page. Copy B and Copy C are printed on blank paper. |
Mask Taxpayer ID (Copy B) | If Yes, Breeze will place Xs in place of the first 5 digits of the Tax ID. |
Populate Recipient Acct# | When selected, completes the Account Numberfield on the 1099 form with the code from the recipient vendor record. |
Corrected File | Marks the form as Corrected (Breeze enters an X in the Corrected checkbox) and adds the date to the top of the Copy B or Copy C tax form. |
Merge Reports | If set to Yes, you can download a single file that includes all the 1099s. If set to No, you must download each page separately and print it out. (A page can contain one or two 1099s.) |
Complete the rest of the filter.
Click Generate. Breeze displays a list of the 1099s in the lower part of the screen.
Click Merged Reports to download a single file with all the 1099s. This button only appears if Merge Reports is set to Yes.
Click Download. Breeze downloads the file to your computer.
Open the PDF file and print it out.
