How do I renew leases?

Updated over 2 months ago

This article describes how to renew leases and gives two examples.

To renew a lease

Open the tenant record and click the Edit icon (the pencil).

If the tenant is renewing for a fixed term, change the lease dates. In the first example shown below, we advanced the From and To dates by a year.

If the tenant is switching to month-to-month, select the Month to Month check box. In this case, leave the From date as is, and there is no To date field. This is shown in the second example.

To view a tenant’s renewal history, open the Tenant History tab.

After changing the lease dates, you need to change the scheduled charges. Even if the rent remains the same, you need to extend the To date on the Scheduled Charge.
