Deposit Setup Tab

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Breeze comes with a default setup for security deposits: GL accounts, charge codes, and some system settings. To view the system settings, go to Company Settings > Deposit Setup tab.

Each line (except for the last one) represents a type of deposit. The first column, Deposit, is the label, the second column is the Charge Code used when you charge a tenant for the deposit, and the third column is the GL account the charge code is linked to. The last line is the charge code used when you refund a deposit and the system creates a charge to move the funds to a cleaning account.

Any charges with the charge codes entered here will be recognized by Breeze as refundable and will appear in the Deposit section of the Tenant screen.

Changing the default setup

If needed, you can modify the default deposit setup. You can add new deposit GL accounts and deposit charge codes and add them to this page; you can also change the labels in the first column by going to Admin > Toolbox > Custom Lists > Deposit labels.

If you modify the setup, keep in mind the following:

  • GL accounts for deposits require the Tenant Deposit flag.

  • The clearing account should not have the Tenant Deposit flag set.

  • All the deposit accounts (including the clearing account) need to be listed on the setup page shown above.

The GL account setup for a deposit account is shown below:

This setup for the clearing account is shown in this screenshot:
