A charge is a record of money owed by a tenant, for example, the rent for January. Most charges are created by monthly posting, but you can also create a one-time charge for a specific expense, for example, a charge for a lost key.
To view a list of charges
Go to Accounting > Accounts Receivable > Charges. Breeze displays a list of charges.
Use this page to view existing charges. Click anywhere in a row to open a charge record.
You can use the Search field to locate specific charges; for example, you could enter a tenant's name to view their charges. You can also click on any column header to re-sort the list.
By default, the screen displays charges from a 12-month period, starting with today's date and working backwards. To view older charges, use the filter and enter a date range.
To view a single charge record
When you click a line in the Charges screen, an individual charge record appears.
On the Charge Information screen, you can view charge details (property, tenant, date and so on), and you can see if it has been paid or not. If it is unpaid, you can click the Receive Payment button and go straight to the Receipt screen.
You can open the Activity Feed on the right side of the charge screen to view which user added the charge.
To edit and delete charges
Before a charge has been paid, you can edit it or delete it. Locate the charge, open it, and click the Edit icon.
The screen changes to Edit mode.
In Edit mode, you can change almost every field on the screen. There is also a Delete button, if you want to delete the charge and start over.
If a charge has been paid, you cannot change it. If you need to edit a paid charge, you first need to delete the receipt that paid it.
Note: If a charge has been paid, you cannot change it. If you need to edit a paid charge, you first need to delete the receipt that paid it. This includes the editing the notes on charges as well.
You cannot delete an online payment, for example, a credit card payment.
To see which user created a charge
To determine which user created a charge, open the charge record and go to the Activity Feed.
