If you own or manage a rental property in Minnesota, you may need to provide Certificates of Rent Paid (CRPs).
This article explains how to produce an Excel file that you can e-file.
To generate CRPs for e-filing
Go to Reporting > Tenant > MN CRP E-File. The filter appears.
Complete the screen. The following fields require explanation:
Date Range: The date range defaults to the prior year. In most cases, this is appropriate.
Account: Select the rent account for the property.
Address on Form: You can choose one of the following: Property, Unit, or Tenant.
Unit, Tenant, and Tenant Status: You can use these fields to filter the tenants. For example, you could generate a form for a single tenant.
Parcel Number, County, Management Agent Name, Managing Agent Phone: If completed, the information will appear on the forms.
Click Submit. Breeze downloads an Excel file.
