The Contacts feature allows you to link third parties to a lease; for example, on a Commercial lease you can enter a billing contact, and then you can invoice that person instead of the tenant.
On the Tenant screen, there is a tab for Additional Contacts.
The right side of the tab is shown below.
In this example, there is an Emergency Contact and a Billing Contact.
To set up contact types
Before you can use the Contact feature, you have to set up labels for different types of contacts. Go to Admin > Toolbox > Custom Lists. Select Contact Types.
Add the contact types needed for your business.
To add a contact to a lease
Open the lease, and click the Additional Contacts tab.
Click the Add Row button. A new row appears on the screen.
Complete the row and click Save.
Running Correspondence for Contacts
When you run tenant correspondence, you can select a contact type to be the recipient; for example, you could select the Billing contact when you create Tenant Statements.
The contact's name will appear on the statement, and it will be sent to the contact's email address.
