What is the “Use Google” check box?

Updated over 2 months ago

The Use Google check box can help you enter addresses in Breeze. When you select it, Breeze uses the Google address predictor -- you start typing and Google returns search results.

The checkbox appears wherever an address is required in Breeze, for example, when you add an owner.

When you select the checkbox, the address fields --Address, City, State, Zip -- collapse into one field. When you start typing, Google returns search results.

Select the correct address and you are done.

Notes:

  • The Use Google check box was introduced in the March 2020 update. Previously, the Google address predictor was used by default.

  • We made it an option because some clients had issues finding correct addresses with the Google address feature; for example, addresses that included suite numbers or unit numbers were not returned.

  • Now there's a choice -- you can enter an address manually or use the search.

Warnings:

  • If you select the Use Google check box, do not attempt to enter the address manually. Select one of the search options returned by Google.

  • If you enter the address manually with the Use Google option selected, Breeze will not store the data correctly and this will create issues in other parts of the program where the address is required.

  • If the address you are trying to add is not recognized by Google, clear the Use Google check box and enter the address manually.

  • Also, do NOT use Google to search for an address that includes a PO Box. Clear the Use Google check box and enter the address manually.
