Can I change the fiscal year-end?

Updated over 2 months ago

A company's fiscal year is its financial year -- a 12-month period that the company uses for accounting purposes. In Breeze, by default, the fiscal year coincides with the calendar year and ends in December.

You can change the fiscal year-end on a per-property basis.

Open to the Property page. Select the Edit icon (the pencil) and change the value in the Fiscal Year End field.

Rebuilding the GL

When you change the fiscal year for a property, you should run the Rebuild GL function.

After changing the fiscal year-end

The fiscal year-end appears on the annual statement. In the following example, the fiscal year-end has been changed to March.

When you run financial reports for multiple properties, they must have the same fiscal year-end. If you select properties with different ones, Breeze will display a warning message.

Note(s): When you close a month that is designated as the Fiscal Year End for a property, Breeze automatically closes the year for that property. This is true for the default fiscal year-end (December) or for any other month. Closing the month is done at the system level and affects all properties.
