What is RentCafe?
RentCafe is a website where you can market your property to prospective tenants, and a tenant portal, where tenants can log in and pay bills and submit maintenance requests.
Do my properties appear on RentCafe automatically?
No, you have to set up each property and publish it to RentCafe. On the Property screen, open the RentCafe tab and complete it.
Is it easy for tenants to log into RentCafe?
When your property is published on RentCafe, the tenants can go to rentcafe.com and register to use the portal, just as they would for any website that requires a login.
Can I include photos and floor plans with my listing on RentCafe?
Yes, photos can be added for the property in general, and also for each unit type.
Does my property's listing show current vacancies?
Yes. Every night, RentCafe checks the property for changes in pricing and availability and updates the listing automatically. If you change a tenant’s status from Current to Notice, add a leasing special, or increase the market rent of the unit, for example, the changes will appear on your rentcafe.com listing the next morning.
Can I use RentCafe as a tenant portal without listing my property?
Yes. On the RentCafe tab, there are separate settings for Advertise on RentCafe and Use Tenant Portal. You can select one and not the other.
Can past tenants access the portal?
When a tenant's status changes to Past, their account is disabled after five days, and they can no longer log in.
If you change their status back to Notice or Current (for any reason), you will need to contact support to re-enable their account.
How can I get more attention on my Properties that are listed on RentCafe?
You can use ILS Data Syndication to share property marketing data with other ILS sites. RentCafe shares data with other listing sites, but it does not set up the listing for you. You have to establish agreements with the ILS vendors first. You can review the ILS Settings via the RentCafe tab for your Property.
