How do I link an existing (or previous) RentCafe account to a new unit or property?

Updated over 2 months ago

If a tenant moves to a new unit at the same property, or a new unit at a different property, they have to register again with RentCafe.

Before they start, the property manager needs to give them their Resident Code at the new unit. This code is the same as the Tenant Id in Breeze, shown on the Tenant Information page. (To open this page, go to Tenants > Tenants and select the appropriate tenant.)

The following procedure is written from the tenant's perspective and explains how they reregister with RentCafe.

To link an existing RentCafe account to a new unit or property

Go to RENTCafe.com > Login > Resident Login.

Select Click here to Register. The Resident Registration page appears.

Enter the zip code and/or name of the property. If the property does not have a name, enter the address.

Click Search.

From the search results, select the correct property. The User Registration page appears.

Enter your first and last name. If you are a commercial tenant, enter the Company Name, as it appears in Breeze, in both the first and last name fields.

Complete the Email field.

When you move the cursor away from the Email field, Rentcafe will recognize your email address and a pop-up will appear.

Click Use My Existing Account. The Account Access screen appears.

Enter your account credentials and click Login.

At this point, RentCafe will ask you for your Resident Code. You will need to get this code from your property manager.

Enter the Resident Code (Tenant Id) and click Login.

A message appears stating that the account has been created.

When you log into your account, you will see multiple units (the old unit and the new one).

Select the current unit to access your ledger, online payment options, and maintenance requests.
