Typically, the screening process requires a Social Security Number (SSN), but there is an option to screen applicants who do not have one, for example, foreign students.
Go to the Company screen and open the Account Settings tab.
Set Allow Screening Without SSN to Yes.
After changing the setting, you can screen without an SSN in Breeze or via RENTCafé. Both methods are explained below.
Screening in Breeze
After you make the change on the Company screen, there is an additional check box on the Screening tab of the Prospect screen: SSN N/A.
If you select it, you can screen the prospect without entering an SSN.
Screening Done in RENTCafe
If Allow Screening Without SSN is set to Yes on the Company screen, prospects will still be able to enter their SSN on an online application, but it is not a required field.
Note: If a prospect does not enter an SSN, the screening may return less detailed results.
