Breeze allows you to track third-party policies, including the insurance company, the policy number, and the expiration date. The expiration date appears on the calendar, so you know when the tenant needs to renew the policy.
To track third-party insurance in Breeze
Open the Tenant screen and click the Renters Insurance tab.
Click the Proof of Insurance button. The Renters Insurance Policy Information screen appears.
Complete the screen. The following fields require explanation:
Renewal: Select this check box if the resident has renewed the existing policy.
Satisfies Move-In Requirement: Select this check box if the insurance policy includes the required liability coverage.
Property is Interested Party: Select this check box if the resident lists the property manager as an interested party on the insurance policy.
When you save, the policy information appears in the tab.
In the month that the policy expires, the expiration date appears on the calendar.
if you want to keep a copy of the insurance policy on the tenant record, go to the Attachment tab and upload the policy.
Proof of Insurance via RentCafe
Tenants can submit proof of insurance on RentCafe by uploading their insurance policy.
After they upload it, the policy appears as an attachment on the tenant record, and the property manager receives an email message. The property manager then completes the procedure shown at the beginning of this article -- they open the tenant record and enter information about the policy.
To upload their policy, a tenant logs into RentCafe and goes to Lease > Insurance.
At the bottom of the page, there's a button that will start the upload.
Note: This Insurance tab only appears if the property manager has set up ResidentShield insurance for the property (a master policy and H04 option).
