Adding units occurs on the Property screen. After you add the late fee setup, a message appears at the bottom of the screen: Next Step: Add Units.
You can add units manually, or import units via a spreadsheet.
Note: If you don't see the option to add units to your property, ensure you have completed the other steps first. Look at the bottom of the property screen to see if Breeze is asking you to add a bank account or a late fee, and either complete those steps and click "skip this step" to get to the unit setup screen.
To enter units manually
Under Manually Enter Units, enter the number of units and click Add. A grid appears with a row for each unit.
Complete the grid.
Note: If the units are similar, you can complete the rest of the first row, and then click Copy to Next Row.
For each unit, complete the following fields.
Unit | Unit number or letter. |
Bedrooms | The number of bedrooms. |
Baths | The number of bathrooms. For a half bath, use .5. |
Size (SqFt) | The area of the unit, in square feet. |
Market Rent | The rent that will be charged for the next tenant. If there is a current tenant who is paying a different amount, you will enter that amount later when you add tenants. |
Deposit | The amount of the security deposit that will be charged for the next tenant. |
Copy to Next Row | Click the Copy button to copy the information to the next row. Breeze will automatically increment the unit number or unit letter. |
Click Save. The Add Tenant button appears on each row in the grid.
To import units
When you set up a property, you can import the units as a group from an Excel spreadsheet, saving time and effort.
Click the Export Template button.
Save the template on your local computer or device.
Open the template in Excel.
Complete a row for each unit you want to import.
The Excel spreadsheet has three tabs: TemplateFile, Sample, and Tips.
β
TemplateFile: Enter your data in this tab.
Sample: View sample data (i.e. what a completed template will look like).
Tips: View an explanation of each column in the spreadsheet, for example, Property, Unit_Code, etc.
Save the template.
Import the template to Breeze. You can drag and drop the file onto the Breeze screen, or you can browse from Breeze and select the file.
After you import the file, Breeze displays the units on the Unit tab.
