Recurring charges are charges that are billed every month (for example, rent or parking). Recurring charges appear on the Tenant screen, on the Current Scheduled Charges tab. The charges are created by the Monthly Posting function.
The rent charge is set up automatically when you add a tenant (the amount comes from the unit setup). Other recurring charges (for example, parking) must be added manually.
Go to the Tenant screen (Tenants > (select a tenant)).
Open the Current Scheduled Charges tab and click the Add Scheduled Charge button.
The screen becomes editable.
Complete a line for the recurring charge. In the screenshot shown above, we added a charge for parking.
The From and To dates default to the lease dates. You can change them if needed.
Recurring Charges and Rentable Items
Rentable items are items that are rented to residents but not connected to units; for example, carports, and storage lockers. Rentable items are assigned to tenants, and the recurring charge is added automatically when you assign them. To assign a rentable item, go to the Property screen and open the Rentable Items tab.
Recurring Charges and Monthly Posting
The Monthly Posting function creates rent charges and other recurring charges. By default, you must run Monthly Posting manually, but you can set up a task to run it automatically.
