Getting Started with the Breeze App

Introduction

In order to use the app, you must be a registered Breeze user. This article describes how to get started with the app.

Note: Getting started with the app includes scanning a QR code. You must first download and open the app before you scan the code. If you scan the code before you download the app, the QR code will not work. You can locate the QR code via Admin > Mobile App Setup.

After you open the app, click the QR button to scan the code.

To download the app

For Apple devices: Go to the App Store and download Yardi Breeze App.

For Android devices: Go to the Google Play Store and download Yardi Breeze App.

Getting started with the app: options

Before you log into the app, you need to link it to your Breeze company. To do this, you get a QR code from Breeze and scan it with your phone after you download the app. Navigate to Admin > Mobile App Setup.

There are two ways to obtain the QR code:

  • A Breeze user can send you an email from Breeze with a QR code (if the user can access the Breeze Admin menu).

  • A Breeze user can generate a QR code on a Breeze screen. You can then scan the QR code directly from Breeze.

Both methods are described below.

Getting started: email method

Breeze User

In Breeze, go to Admin > Mobile App Setup.

Enter the email addresses of the users you are going to set up.

Click Send Email.

Breeze App User

Open the email from Breeze on a laptop or other device. The email is shown below.

On your phone, open the Breeze app. The login page appears.

On the login page, click the QR icon.

You can now scan the QR code in the email, and the app will complete the Company Domain field on the login page.

Note: Your Company Domain is listed in the URL you use to login to Breeze. If you can't locate it, please chat with us and an agent can assist you in locating it.

Enter your email address and your Breeze password.

Click Next. The app logs you in, and the home page appears.

Note: As an alternative, you can open the email on your phone, copy the URL from the email, and paste it into the Company Domain field on the Breeze App's login page.

Getting started: generating a QR code in Breeze

Breeze User

Go to Admin > Mobile App Setup.

Click Generate QR Code. A QR Code appears on the screen.

Breeze App User

On your phone, open the Breeze app. The login page appears.

On the login page, click the QR icon.

You can now scan the QR code on the Breeze User's computer, and the app will complete the Company Domain field on the login page. Again, to locate the Company Domain you can do so via Admin > Mobile App Setup.

Enter your email address and your Breeze password.

Click Next. The app logs you in, and the home page appears.

Note: The Breeze user can be the same person as the app user. For example, you are a Breeze user with access to the Admin menu, and you want to set up the app on your own phone.

To reset the company information

In some cases, you might have to clear the company information from the app and start over.

On the login page, click the QR Code button at the bottom of the screen.

A warning message appears: Are you sure you want to reset the app? You will have to scan a new QR code.

Click Yes.

The camera on your phone becomes active. Scan a new QR code to reset the app and log in.
